Identity Compass is the ideal diagnostic tool for companies wanting to improve and grow individuals, teams or the entire organisation.
This recent cutting-edge development from the fields of cognitive science and Neuro-Semantics registers how people think and make decisions in typical work situations. It points out what motivates individuals, what their values are and what their natural career goals are. The Identity Compass gives clear guidance on which people are likely to perform best in which situations, and how improvement in weaker areas can best be achieved. It indicates precise leverage points for change in a fraction of the time previously required.
Identity Compass differs from conventional profiling tools in that it does not type people or put them into labelled categories from which they have little incentive to change, neither does it assign attributes to them. Instead it registers thinking patterns, personal motivation factors and how these are realised, the method in which information is recorded and processed, as well as personal assets (skill sets). It does this by means of an on-line questionnaire, which searches for the affinity a person has with the kinds of words and phrases that relate to particular language patterns. When this is identified, the behavioural response in specific work contexts can be predicted ("because I think this way, I behave like that…").
In fact, Identity Compass does not claim to measure personality as such – rather it measures the attributes directly, giving a measurement of 60 individual thinking habits, 10 target and sustaining values and 17 job motivation indicators. Profiles are easy to interpret as the focus is on one attribute at a time. These are measured specifically in the context of the individual's work (not in their private context), in order to provide a measurement which is focused, accurate and relevant. In this way it achieves a precision not previously possible.
After completing the Identity Compass questionnaire online, an internet based report is generated, from which the client receives a one-on-one, two hour detailed feedback session. This provides the client with respectful and valuable feedback on their scoring, implications thereof and correlations with burnout, leadership, communication, sales, influence and many more. With no two profiles being the same, there is no there is no right or wrong, or better or worse score, only what is useful to the outcome or specific work context. By its very nature Identity Compass is therefore culturally and gender fair and neutral. Subsequent coaching or facilitation will help to change thinking habits and assist the individual become more flexible in their approach.
Identity Compass was developed and tested in Germany, and profiling is conducted worldwide by licensed practitioners. The tool has a reliability of 0.8 on average and is validated by contrast with the NeoFFI (Big5), CPI, OMT, CFT and by Peer-Rating (German version – Dr David Scheffer, Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg).
